Sobe Water Heads or Tails game

Have you been playing Sobe's Heads or Tails game? It is being reported that the B1G1 coupons have been reset. I just played again and won a B1G1 coupon. I was able to print it many times. I stopped at about 10-12. Some people are reporting being able to print it over 20 times. Don't know if this will be fixed, but get your coupons now.

It is also being reported that these waters will go on sale next week at CVS.

Extra Deals at Walgreens

I stopped by Walgreens today to do some shopping and discovered and EXTRA DEAL SHEET on the rack by the door - it starts today and goes through July 3rd. I just thought I'd mention it but I don't know how to link coupons, etc to it.

I got a 2 pack of Oral B toothbrushes for FREE with RR

ALSO: While I was there I picked up these Walgreen's Water Bottles for .49 - that have 4 other items inside - a weekly pill container, tissue pack, hand lotion and a 4 pack of crayons. For those of you who do boxes for Operation Christmas Child, I picked these up for each of our boxes, emptied out the pill container and lotion and we will fill it with candy. This hard plastic keeps the candy fresh and away from soap smells from other toiletries.

Hope that helps someone! Vivian

Home Depot Kids Workshop 7/3

The Home Depot Kids Workshop for July is the 3rd. So head over to make a periscope. No registration required, just show up between 9am and noon. All Home Depot stores participate in the workshop. Participants are also given a little Home Depot apron just like the employees wear and a pin to show they completed the project.

ALL YOU Magazine $20 for 2 years

All You is a monthly magazine that has lots of great coupons. The number of coupons vary, but the quantity is similar to a typical coupon insert in the Sunday paper. All You Magazine is, in my opinion, worth paying for. Don't, however, pay full price!

A few months ago Theresa posted about getting 24 issues for $20. This morning CommonSenseWithMoney mentioned another. Right now you can get two years for $20. Just like the deal mentioned previously this is a school fundraiser site (you can choose any school you want to benefit from your order--I didn't see any in GB--but I didn't look to hard either).

Just click here, select the school you would like to benefit, search for All You Magazine, and order.

Kellogg's Cereal Recall

Just in case you missed it... Kellogg's has issued a recall on several of their cereals (Apple Jacks, Corn Pops, Fruit Loops, and Honey Smacks). Apparently they have identified a substance in the package liners that can produce an "uncharacteristic waxy-like off taste and smell". More info and box codes can be found here. If you have questions or you would like a replacement coupon(s), you may contact the Kellogg Consumer Response Center at 888-801-4163.

GB Press Gazette Summer Reading Program

Here is another Summer Reading Program that your kids can participate in this summer. It's the Super Summer Reader program from the Green Bay Press Gazette newspaper.

Please submit your Super Summer Reader entries/book reports using the form along with your name, address, phone number, the school and grade you will attend in September. All entries received by Wednesday of each week will be able to be viewed on the paper website on Sunday.

Throughout the summer, prizes also will be awarded. I have been told that while it says the prizes are chosen by random drawing that each child does get a prize of some kind after each submission. Prizes are mailed, so the address part of the form needs to be filled out.

Prizes provided by: Happy Joes, McDonald's, Marcus Theatres, the NEW Zoo, and many other businesses.

Mega Swag Bucks Friday!

Search & Win

It's Friday... which means it's Mega Swag Bucks day. If you search on Fridays there is a greater chance to earn MEGA Swag Bucks!!

If you already have Swag Bucks here are a few tips for you... it is a better deal to get the $5 Amazon gift card with your SwagBucks than it is to get the $25 one. Strange, but true! When ordering an Amazon gift card make sure you don't accidentally order the Canadian one (I almost did this!) and don't forget you must verify your gift card order or it won't be sent.

Amazon gift cards are sent out the 1st and 17th of each month. I like to put mine in my Amazon account right away, the money can then sit there until I am ready to order something. If you have an order of $25 or more, shipping is free!

If you haven't already joined Swag Bucks... it's an easy way to "earn" gift cards and prizes by searching the internet! It's free and easy and really works!

To learn more read: What is Swag Bucks?

Skinny Cow coupon is back!

Go HERE to get a coupon for $1 off any Skinny Cow ice cream product. Several stores have had the little ice cream cups on sale for $1 lately, making them free w/ this coupon. Use the back button to print it twice!

$4 off $20 at CVS

Stopped at CVS today to get my free shave cream and the red box printed a $4 off $20 that is good for three days only. I didn't have anything else planned except a raincheck for items still out of stock, so I'm going to try to go back to use it later. Just wanted to give you all a head's up in case it might be like the $5 off $15's that were printing at the register recently.

It's a GIVEAWAY!

This GIVEAWAY has ended!
Congrats to Julie L.!!!

Anyone else notice how long the days have been lately? Monday was the longest day of the year so we are now on the downhill slide to winter! Hard to believe, I know. Right now we're running the AC and fans, but before you know it we'll have to turn on the lights at 4pm and light a fire in the fireplace!
Between then and now we'll be shopping at the Farmer's Market and harvesting our gardens. How would you like to win a totally FREE (my favorite word!) Hamilton Beach 6 Cup Food Processor to help you chop all those fresh veggies, quickly make pesto or, my favorite, fresh salsa?
CSN Stores contacted me and offered this great prize to giveaway! They have over 200 online stores and sell a little bit of everything, including things like triple bunk beds (a girl can dream, can't she?), toys, and cookware.

The giveaway starts NOW and ends at 10pm on July 1st. Winner will be notified by email and will need to supply their mailing address within 48 hours or new winner will be chosen. The prize will be sent to you directly from CSN.

To enter the giveaway you must fill out your name and email address on this form. You can earn OPTIONAL additional entries by commenting on this blog post (not on the FB post), "liking" GB Savers on Facebook, and subscribing (via RSS or email).

Tell your friends and be sure to come back on July 2nd to find out who won!

*No compensation was received for this post. And I can't win! :)

I'm going to change how I post for Copps deals. I will try to highlight anything that I see is free or very cheap after doubled coupons, as well as good stock up prices. I apologize for not posting in a while. Life has been crazy busy lately, but I'm planning to schedule in a specific time for getting these deals posted each week. So, bear with me in the meantime. :-)

Today I spent $18.07 and saved $27.07 (60%). I bought the pop tarts (4), angel soft, 3 gallons milk w/ coupons, eggs w/ free coupon, Buddig meats (2), Rinaldi sauce (2), wacky mac, bananas, lettuce, tomatoes. I doubled 5 coupons and had overage from the egg and milk coupons earned last week. I may make another trip on Saturday as I forgot to use the $2.50 off order coupon I got last week from buying Fruit Roll-Ups for the kids and I also just found the above mentioned coupon book in my Weds. paper from last week. Oops!

Double the Doubles Again!

This week is the last to offer Saturday Double Daze at Copps, but it's going out with a bang, as this Saturday is Double Double Daze, which means you can double 10 coupons per $25 order. Based on the increasing amount of coupon doubling going on at Copps lately, I'm really hoping that something good is forthcoming. Only time will tell, but I'm hoping that maybe the 10 coupons doubled will become a regular deal, or they'll stick with doing doubles 2x/week. A girl can hope, right?

Oscar Mayer Deli Creations Cracker Combinations $.99
-$1/1 printable here or May ALL YOU or 5/16 SS

I "bought" three today when I went to PW and not only were they free but I got TWO catalina (register) coupons for $1.50/3. So I can go back and get 6 more for $.49 each. For the first time that I can recall my cashier also took off the limit of my free milk coupon ($3.75) instead of the price of my milk ($1.99) so I got $1.76 overage to help cover my produce! I got a whole bag of stuff and a gallon of milk for $3.55!

This mom feeds her family for $4 a week. Crazy! She also has a beautifully organized stockpile! Now I know it's a bit unrealistic for those of us in the GB area to do this because of our local store policies, but there are still some helpful hints in the video and it sure is fun to see!

Make Your Own: Can Rotators

Below is a post from my personal blog that I thought I had posted here as well... but must not have. If you buy any type of canned goods these are very helpful and nearly free to make!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Several months ago I came across these plans to make a can rotating device out of cardboard. Since I tend to buy large quantities of items but have a bad habit of just putting the new items in front of the old... I always wanted some can rotators. But being the frugal person I am, I just couldn't spend the money on fancy, expensive ones. So, I thought I would take "Grandpa's" plans and make one to try out.
My prototype
Well, the first one was a challenge. I finished it but set aside the idea for awhile because I had so much trouble putting it together... it seemed that it was a project for someone with six hands! Plus Grandpa's plans were not exactly written out in a helpful, step by step fashion.
Then another blog I like to read posted the same instructions and in the comments I got several suggestions that helped me out. The most important tip was to use pins to hold everything in place instead of growing a few extra hands! Why didn't I think of that?! Now I was willing to give it a second try.
I made a few other "improvements" to the plans as long as I was at it. The second rotator went together much easier and by the fourth I was a pro. Now I think I could put them together with one hand tied behind my back. Okay, so not really... but this new improved method really helped! And my new and improved method is stronger because it adds shelf supports:
If you want to make more than one I highly recommend making a template of the pieces. I used shirt gift boxes. They're thin yet sturdy enough to use repeatedly if you mark lightly with a pencil. You also want to use a utility blade with a fresh blade. It just makes the edges so much nicer. Use a straight edge too! Crooked pieces don't go together as nicely. (Trust me on that one!)
Here's what you'll need:
utility knife, wood glue (or caulk), metal carpenter square (or ruler),
sturdy 2 ply cardboard, pins, and the plans*
Assembly Shelly's Way:
1. Measure and cut out all necessary pieces. This is probably the most time consuming step and why you'll want templates if you're making more than one.
2. Mark the sides (both left and right) where the shelves will go. This part is NOT in the plans... glue thin strips of cardboard (mine are about 1/2 inch wide and 5 inches or so long--no longer or they'll interfere with the can rolling) just below the lines you've marked (left photo). Squirt glue on marked lines (center photo). Place center shelves onto glue (right photo). Let it dry for a bit. If your shelves won't stand up support them with something.
3. Now squirt glue onto the opposite side and... this is the hardest part... line it up just right and put in place. If you placed those thin support strips in the right place it will help you line it up. When you are done it will look like this:
I like to pin it all in place to keep everything from shifting because at this point it's like a house of cards and prone to collapse.
I cheat a bit and don't wait for the glue to dry. I just keep on truckin', but I'm brave like that... or impatient. You can let the glue dry if you want. Just do yourself a favor and stand the whole thing up and make sure it's square and all the shelves look even.
4. Glue (and pin) the bottom front (left photo), top front (middle photo), and back (right photo) in place. These pieces kind of come around the corners which adds strength. Grandpa's original design did not have the back this way. That is a modification by Shelly (aka "Shellification"). You will also need to glue the "wood block" in place at the back of the bottom shelf. The wood block is not really wood, it's just a card board rectangle glued in on an angle that keeps the cans moving forward. It is hidden away in there and therefore not easy to photograph, but trust me... you need it!
5. At this point I like to turn the whole thing on it's side and set some heavy books (heavy in weight, not content... although I used books heavy in both respects for mine!) on top of the whole thing. Once the glue is dry, remove the books, then the pins. Cut a small notch where indicated to make it easier to remove the cans. Label, if you so desire, and then try it out!
Grandpa paints his to make them sturdier, but I am just using mine plain and taking my chances. Grandpa's plans include dimensions for all sizes of cans. I need to do a little math and make a couple that are wide enough for peanut butter jars. Peanut butter is the thing I have the hardest time following the FIFO rule on (FIFO=first in first out).
Want to see it in action? I thought you might!
Too lazy to make these?? I found, after I made mine, that you can buy something very similar made from cardboard for pretty cheap. I might have gone with this option had I known about it sooner, but I guess there is some satisfaction in knowing you made them yourself... that's what I keep telling myself anyway.
*Follow this link to get a pdf of the original plans. If you want a copy of MY plans with improvements I'd be happy to make a copy and give it to you.
Sad Story by Vivian
Had a busy week last week - but was inspired by the deals going on and tried to carve out some time to get my coupons together and head to CVS at least - I woke up this am and realized I never made it by the time the deals ended Saturday and while checking in my purse for something I discovered $13 in ECB's that expired YESTERDAY!
I know you're "crying" with me - I was sure pouting this am and wanted to shed some real tears - that was THIRTEEN DOLLARS LOST! Very Sad!
Vivian - who plans to use the next batch that expires on June 24th before they expire!
Here's Denise from The Centsible Sawyer sharing some great info about "stockpiling". (Love that Southern accent!)
Theresa's Copps Run
Tonight I made a quick trip to Copps. Here is my trip.
Here is what I bought:
2 - Kraft Mac & Cheese, B1G1 sale - $0.55 = $0.70 for both (35 cents each)
6 boxes of Kelloggs cereal = $22.24 - $10 for buying 6 boxes - (2) $1/1 coupons, (2) $1/2 coupons (all doubled) = $4.24 for 6 boxes of cereal
2 bags of Nabisco cookies @ $1.33 each - $1/2 MC coupon (doubled) = $0.66 (33 cents each)
2 Lean Cuisine Meals @ $2 each - $1/1 IP coupons (doubled) = FREE
4- IttiBitz @ $1 each - $1/4 MC coupon (doubled) = $2 (50 cents each)
1 - Minute Maid Lemonaid @ $2.50 - $1.50 IP coupon = $1
2 - Yoplait Delights @ $2 each - (2) $1/1 IP coupon (doubled) = FREE
2 - Bag refund = $0.10
Total OOP = $8.64
Total SAVED $40.75
Erica's Copps Run
Stuck to the list almost exactly! The only change was to add blueberries to my second transaction. Forgot that the $2 off coupon was for produce only, so I used it to get the blueberries for $0.50. My final total ended up being less than anticipated as I stuck to some of the cheaper cereals and some other prices were different than what was listed. Here's the final result:
Transaction #1: Total = $18.81, saving $41.26 (67%)
Transaction #2: Total = $24.43, saving $45.16 (65%)
Overall total = $43.24, saving $86.42 (66%)
Erica's CVS Run
Had a GREAT CVS run today. I had some ECB's expiring today so I had to get over there, especially w/ all the great deals they have this week. Here's what I got:
I had multiple transactions planned, but the Velp store was out of several items on my list. I ended up w/ one transaction, but it was FAR better than I anticipated:
  • 2 Skinny Cow ice cream cups, $1 each - $1 IP's = FREE
  • Gillette Fusion ProGlide, $9.97 - $4 MC = $5.97, earned $5 ECB's
  • Always Ultra, $2.97 - FREE MC from Being Girl sample pack = FREE
  • 2 Tampax Pearl, $2.97 each - $2 MC's = $0.97 each
  • Dawn Hand Renewal, $0.97 - $1 MC = FREE plus overage
  • - $5 off $15 that printed at register (adjusted to $4.38)
  • - $3.50 ECB's
Total = $0.96, just the tax! Plus I earned $5 ECB's from the razor, so that is a $4.04 profit. I heart CVS!
The Children's Place Online SALE
Now through June 13th The Children's Place is having an awesome sale! Lots of shirts for $5, shorts for $10, and flip flops 2/$5. Plus right on the site they have a coupon code (J6A6A) for 20% off your entire order. Their shipping is a flat rate $5, no matter how much you buy. I got several polos for my gang for a great price.
  • Pillsbury Brownie Mix $.49
These are available here for Larry's PW and here for Olsen's PW. These are store coupons so they can be combined with manufacturer coupons if any are available. They can only be printed at home.
GB area Piggly Wiggly stores do NOT double coupons. They do accept internet printables (up to $2.50). Look for the FREE coupon machine (in the bakery area of the De Pere store) powered by Coupons.com for extra manufacturers coupons.
On Facebook, become a fan of Larry's Piggly Wiggly here (stores: De Pere, Kaukauna, Little Chute, and Manitowoc) and Olsen's Piggly Wiggly here (Howard).
