Theresa's CVS deal yesterday

I just had to share this with everyone. I have never been able to get all of this stuff for FREE before. Normally I have to pay at least a little in taxes, but not this time.

This is what I bought:

Transaction #1
1 - Playskool Diapers - $10.99
1 - Viactiv Glides - $8.99
8 - Bottles of LifeWater @5/$5 = $8
Total before coupons = $27.98

Coupons used:
$5 off $15 CVS coupon
$3 off Playskool diaper CVS coupon
$2 off Playskool diaper M.C.
$4 off Viactiv glides CVS coupon
$13.98 ECBs
Total OOP = $0.00, received $7 ECBs

Transaction #2
1 Playskool Diapers = $10.99
1 Viactiv Glides vitamins = $8.99
2 Lifewaters = $2.00
Total before coupons = $21.98

Coupons used
$5 off $15 CVS coupon
$3 off Playskool diaper CVS coupon
$2 off Playskool diaper M.C.
$4 off Viactiv glides CVS coupon
$7.98 ECBs
OOP = $0.00, received $9 ECBs

I didn't take a picture of the deals, but I do have a picture of the receipt to actually show you that I paid nothing. I came to realize that the reason I didn't pay anything was because all of my coupons rang up as CVS coupons and they take off taxes. Because my first order actually was $4.22 at one point, but when I gave her my $4 ECB, it went down to $0.

Why I LOVE Getting the Mail!

Here is what I got in the mail today! I love getting the mail...I never know what I'll find in there! I finally got my Sambucol rebate. And just like I had heard it was indeed a hand written check! No wonder it took so long to get here. Have you gotten yours? Mine was delayed a bit since it was forwarded to the new address from the old. I was a bit worried about not getting it at all for that reason! Even Jer has been surprised at how many rebate checks have been arriving in the mail lately.
Here is what I got:
  • 2 travel tubes and a booklet of coupons from Aquafresh (I called with a defective product complaint--when I got a travel size tube freebie with a coupon from CVS was not sealed right and had the bottom completely open!)
  • a $12.99 check from Sambucol
  • a coupon for a free bag of dog food
  • a coupon for a free bag of cat food (I'll give this to my sister)
  • a free baby bottle (I'll give this to my sister too!)
  • deodorant sample (Roz already claimed for her gym locker)
  • two coupons for a free chicken sandwich from McDonald's (a nice, unexpected surprise in with my Amazon order!)
Not everyday is as a good as this but I have been getting some great stuff lately. If you want some free stuff in your mailbox...the best place I have found for freebies is Freebies4Mom.

Holiday Weekend

Just in case you weren't aware or if you are...a friendly reminder. This weekend is Memorial Day Weekend. It is a holiday. There are NO coupons in the paper on holidays. Don't buy a paper just for the coupons! And on a side note, if you're going to be around come sit with us at the parade Monday morning...we always have a good time...and get free Seroogy's (more if we know the girls throwing the candy!). Have a good weekend!

Walgreens $5 off $20-Friday Only

Guess I'll wait until tomorrow to head to Walgreens! Check your email. If you didn't get the coupon...here it is!!

Free CD from Zantac

If you got paid two weeks ago to buy Zantac...here is another way to get more out of that deal! Best of all the form is online so you don't even have to pay for a stamp!

Coupons: Chicago Tribune VS. Press Gazette

Hi Ladies - another verdict is in and I thought I'd share it with you. Yesterday I picked up the Chicago Tribune to compare to the Press Gazette and here are the results of my counting coupons in each.

Totals: CT = 196 total and PG = 79

That about says it all but in case you'd like to see the breakdown - and remember this is not scientific but I tried to generally catagorize the coupons....

Food - CT=78 to PG=36
Toiletery - CT=43 to PG=16
Pharmacy - CT=22 to PG=6
MakeUp/Beauty - CT=16 to PG=5
Baby - CT=9 to PG=9
Cleaning - CT=17 to PG=7
Pet - CT=11 to PG=0

I guess they think we don't own pets up here :))))))

And so we will try to stop at the store each Sunday and either pick up a Tribune or a Sentinel in order to get the coupons - these papers are only 2.15 to 2.50 - that's not bad for an extra 100 plus coupons! Vivian

CVS Gift Card

I thought this was funny. This could only happen at CVS. When I went shopping on Wednesday. I walked into CVS with a gift card worth 83 cents. I couldn't even spend it all! Well, I could have but I didn't. I left with a gift card worth 37 cents. I haven't spent ANY money at CVS since the twins had an ear infection in early March and needed antibiotics. I got a $25 "new prescription" gift card that has lasted me until now. I have another $10 gift card I'll start using after this that I got from MyPoints. If I'm careful and keep getting gift cards from MyPoints... I may never pay any money out of pocket at CVS ever again! (If you want to sign up for MyPoints let me or Theresa know...we get extra points if you sign up when we refer you.)

Free Yogurt

Cub Foods has Dannon four packs on sale for $1. If you don't mind the Light & Fit kind there are coupons for $1 off. Which means FREE yogurt! If you don't have many of the $1 off coupons or want more than you have coupons my Cub had the red box blinky coupons for $.75 cents off right by the yogurt making them 25 cents. I got SEVEN four packs for $1! We eat a lot of yogurt so I should have gotten even more. The containers are a bit small...perfect for lunch or snack. Pizza rolls and Hamburger Helper are on sale for $1 again too and there were some coupons in recent inserts but it doesn't look like there are any printables out for those right now. I got all this for about $9.

Last Week's Walgreens

I've been meaning to post this Walgreens run since Friday. This weekend was super busy though...so I didn't have time until now. Last week was great week for Walgreens IF (and that's a BIG if) you could find a Walgreens that had items in stock. Last Tuesday, I went to 4 Walgreens in one day and ALL of them were out of the items I was looking for!

Here's what I got:
3 Casacade @ $2.50 each
2 Mr. Clean @ $2.50 each
4 Crest Pro-Health Night @ $2.50 each
1 Venus @ $9.99 each
1 Zantac @ $3.99 each
2 Snickers @ $.50 each (sustenance for the GBAMOM resale!)

I used the Easy Saver coupon ($3 off 2) for the Crest and $13.49 in manuf. coupons. I paid $20.06 out of pocket since I had already used my gift card for the monthly freebies. BUT I got back $29 in Register Rewards. So they paid me $8.94 to buy this! I could have made even more if they had the products I wanted! (I had coupons for more toothpaste and better coupons for the Action Pack Cascade.) I did do the deal twice last week to get more Cascade. So right now I have over $50 in RRs to spend. I would have more but I did use some of the Venus/Zantac RRs to pay for the next deal. Looks like there aren't any really great deals at Walgreens this week so I'll have to figure out something to buy before these RRs expire.

GB Press Gazette Vs. Milwaukee Sentinel

Hello GB Savers - I just thought I'd way in on this coupon thing.  I have been recently turned down at the Olson's Piggly Wiggly with my internet coupons and was told Woodmans would not accept them either so I got to thinking about Theresa's suggestion of using a big city paper.  Well, I thought I'd give you my comparison from the May 4th Sunday paper:

Smart Source in GB had:

8 - food cpns
7 - household coupons (cleaners, razors, etc)
4 - restaurant cpns
2 - pharmacy cpns (vitamins, etc)

While the MIL Sent had:

14 - food cpns
24 - household cpns (that is NOT a typo)
4 - restaurant cpns
10 - pharmacy cpns

Wow was my response to that.  Also my GB paper had no Red Plum this week and I didn't get a P&G saver book either - but both were in the Mil Sent paper.

Did you GB savers get a P&G in your GB Press paper this week? What do we do if we are jipped one?   Curious....

Vivian

CVS deal for this week

The deals for CVS this week aren't very good, but I was able to get a few.

I bought 2 Kiss glue for $1.99 each
4 Johnson's buddies for $0.99 each
1 Centrum Cardio for $9.99
1 Colgate 360 toothbrush for $3.99
1 Aquafresh trial size toothpaste for $0.99

Used the following coupons:
1 - $3/$15 CVS coupon
2 - $2/2 Johnson's coupons (coupons were about to expire, so I wanted to get them used up)
1 - $3/1 Cardio coupon
1 - $1/1 Colgate toothbrush coupon
1 - $0.99/1 Trial sized toothpaste coupon
$10.78 EBCs

Paid $0.68 OOP

Received $9.99 ECBs back
Will also receive $9.99 for Centrum Cardio rebate from past weekend's newspaper (don't recall if it was in the Press Gazette). Got it for sure from Chicago Tribune.

Walgreens deal

Today I went to Walgreens and was able to take advantage of a couple deals.
I did the following all in one transaction, but am putting it in a few groups.

I bought 9 Crest Pro Health toothpastes for $2.50 each = $22.50
Less Walgreens $3/2 coupon from Easy Saver catalog = $13.50
Less $6.50 Crest MF coupons (had 4 -$1/1 coupons, 3 - $0.50/1 coupons and 1-$1/2 coupon)
Total for toothpaste = $2.50 + tax
Received $20 RR

I also bought 1 pk of Zantac for $3.99
Used $5/1 coupon, it didn't get adjusted down, so I actually got it free, plus overage. Plus I also received a $3 RR

I bought 2 more of the FAR items (Energy spray, $3.29 and Nexcare Cold Sore Treatment, $8.99) kind of as a filler because I had so many coupons and because I hadn't bought them yet for the month.

Plus 2 more fillers of chocolate sprinkles @ $0.99 each.

I also used 2 $6 RR from the Venus Embrace shavers I had bought from a previous trip.

I should have actually put in a couple more fillers so I could have used my 3rd $6 RR, but didn't so I paid $5.88 on my gift card, so I got all of this for FREE!! Plus, I still have $32 RR for another trip and will receive another $12.28 from FAR items. Too bad I have already bought so many of my FAR items for the month. I could have used my RR for them.

I'm thinking of going back and see if I can get the Cascade/Mr Clean deal as well. Have lots of $0.50 off coupons, which would still be a money maker, just not as big as the toothpaste deal.

May 1st Successful CVS Run

Hi Ladies - The one time I took a picture you never saw it and so many times I don't get on to record my story but I am motivated this am to tell you about my success - even though I know several of you already heard :)  - Sorry, no picture!

I went on May 1st because I had ECB's expiring that day - but didn't realize til I got there that the new monthly sale book would be out.  YEAH!  I got in to the store at a good time since they were well stocked on the freebies and there were lots of them.

Here is what I bought - I had NO coupons with me but I know some of these have cpns:
3 Dole Fruit 3/$5.00 (need for lunches)
   1 Bic Soleil Razor 5.99 - get $3 ECB's
   2 Colgate 360 toothbrushes - 3.99ea - get 3.99 ECB's (have seen cpns)
   1 Orapik Travel kit - 2.79 - get 2.79 ECB's
   2 Aquafresh toothpaste - 2.99ea - get 2.99 ECB's (have seen cpns)
3 CVS Loratadin - 3.79ea - get 3.79 ECB's (this is like Claritin allergy med)
   1 Tums Quik Pk - 4.69 - get 4.69 ECB's
   2 Palmolive Dish soap - 1.59 - BOGO so .80ea
   4 Pepsi 2 liters - 1.79 - BOGO so .90ea
   2 ALL Laundry detergent - 6.49 - BOGO so 3.25ea
   2 Tostitoe Products - 3.79 and 2.99 - BOGO  so I saved 2.99
2 CVS Liquid Soap - 1.49 each and I think they were supposed to be BOGO and I didn't get it

GRAND TOTAL would have been $81.56 but with the sales the register took off automatically my NET TOTAL was $58.44 - I had one $3 off $10 CVS because of scanning my card AND $35.94 in ECB's - so my total bill was $24.09.

THE great part was I got $35.81 in ECB's back to spend the next time I go :))))) YEAH!   and I didn't even have the $3 off $10 coupon they mentioned at moneysavingmom.com nor the $5 off $30 coupon that Shelly mentioned came in an email.  That would have been another $8 off.

HAPPY SHOPPING - Vivian
