Walgreens has a "Friends and Family" coupon available to use tomorrow, December 1st. This coupon will get you 15% off everything you buy and 20% off Walgreens brand items. Be sure to give this coupon first since they will process your order like you are receiving an employee discount.

Walgreens Coupon Policy NOW ONLINE!

After years of confusion Walgreens has finally decided to post their coupon policy online! Although I know it is probably not the case, I would like to think my many complaint emails and requests for this policy over the years had something to do with this new development! :)

The policy is well written and clear, especially on a few points that have long caused confusion for both shoppers and cashiers. Most notably:

Buy One, Get One Free Coupons

• When items are featured in a Buy One, Get One Free promotion, up to two coupons can be used against the items being purchased, as long as the net price does not go below zero for the items being purchased.
• Sales tax must be paid for any Buy One, Get One Free coupon offers, if required by applicable state laws.

This appears to be a change in their "official" policy. Although until now we never really knew what the official policy was! This means that you CAN use two coupons (or a $x/2 coupon) in combination with a BOGO sale. And you CAN use a BOGO coupon with a BOGO sale (you will still have to pay sales tax, which has always been the case).

Read the whole policy here. I highly recommend you print this policy off and put it in your coupon container so you have it handy the during your shopping trips to Walgreens.

plus will get a $4.50 rebate from back of package
4 Lindsay olives $.99 each (with weekly store coupon) -$1/2 MC x2= $.49 each

FINAL TOTAL= $12.53 and I got back $11.5o in RRs plus the $4.50 rebate


*I just wanted to point something out. At Walgreens (and some other stores) the order in which you give the cashier your coupons makes a difference. At Walgreens give them in the following order:
1st Manufacturer coupons
2nd Walgreens weekly then monthly
3rd Register Rewards

For the candy bar B2G1 coupon this worked in my favor. By giving the B2G1 coupon first it took the regular price off for the "fill in the blank" amount ($.69 off in this case) even though with the Walgreens weekly coupon the price was actually only 39 cents.

I paid a "stupid tax" on this transaction by breaking a critical Walgreens rule. I used a RR from the Kotex U deal I did last week to pay again when I bought a second package this week. When you do this the "new" RR doesn't print out. So I lost a $2.50 RR. Ugh. Learn from my mistake and don't roll RRs on the same deal!

I could have lowered my OOP (out of pocket) costs by doing more than one transaction but 1) I'm lazy, 2) trying to do all that math hurts my brain, and 3) I already feel like I'm pushing my luck most times at Walgreens. :)
